Sharyn and Paul Watson welcome you to Northgate Motor Lodge.

We are a husband and wife team at 16 Northgate Motor Lodge.  We took over the lease of Northgate on the 23rd October 2009.  We are from New Plymouth, having had happy and memorable childhoods and spent our early adult years here.

We left New Plymouth at the age of 18; Sharyn to Auckland to study as a teacher and Paul to Wellington to study electronics in broadcasting.
Then Sharyn ventured to the UK in 1997; teaching, traveling and living the London lifestyle for many years.  Yet she did eventually return to New Plymouth in 2004.

Paul worked in various parts of the North Island as an electronics technician.  Then in the mining industry in Papua New Guinea before heading off on his big OE, ending up in Asia for many years teaching English.

He later decided to enter the offshore oil industry, working with underwater submersibles.  This new and exciting occupation took him all over the world for 17 years.  But his hometown eventually called him back again in 2001.

We both decided it was time for career changes as Sharyn had taught for 15 years and Paul had been working offshore.
We are pleased that we have taken this opportunity to work in the motel industry.
